Our Lady of Sorrowsis an integral part of the Diocese of Pembroke and has been in existence as a Parish for over 50 years – Catholicism has had a presence in this Parish since the early 1800’s. During that time, many, many people have been baptized, received the Holy Spirit through Confirmation and exchanged their marriage vows in our beautiful church.
As a Faith Community, we are committed to living and acting according to the faith of the Catholic Church in principles of justice and respect. Our parishioners are extremely active and generous with their time and talents. Thanks to their efforts, we are able to work together to fulfill Jesus’ directive to make present the Kingdom of God and care for each other and His creation with love and compassion. This is the secret behind our parish’s vitality and strong sense of community.
Every year, hundreds of parishioners take an active role in parish leadership, enhance our liturgies as musicians, lectors, Eucharistic ministers and organize all of the social and service opportunities for the parish. Volunteers are the driving force in our efforts to accomplish our parish mission. As a new parishioner, I strongly encourage you to get involved in an area of parish life that interests you. You will find that your efforts are welcomed warmly.
